Warning: at no time should the battery be connected to the power supply when the power supply is turned off, or with the output voltage of the power supply set to lower than the battery voltage. If AC power is lost during charging, disconnect the battery immediately.
Warning: Before the battery is connected to the power supply, make sure that the power supply output voltage is set to higher than the battery voltage. If the power supply gets into OV protected mode or AC power is lost, remove the battery immediately from the power supply. For this reason, we recommend setting OV knob (the second one from left) to maximum position.
For models with BOTH an air switch in the back and a green button in the front, including HY20010EX:
1) Turn the AC power on using the air switch in the back.
2) Enable the output by pushing the green button to 'IN' position.
3) Turn the current knob (the first one from the left) to slightly above minimum so that the CV light is on.
4) Use the two knobs on the right to set the voltage to desired level recommended by the battery manufacturer.
5) Connect the battery to the back terminals, make sure the polarity is correct: + to + and - to -.
7) Turn the current knob to maximum, or the desired current recommended by battery manufacturer.
8) Watch the charging progress, when the current is below 1A or 1/10 of the maximum charging current, it is probably time to stop. Make sure the AC power never goes off line during the charging process.
9) Stop the output, disconnect the battery from the power supply, and then turn off the power supply.
For models with ONLY an air switch OR a green button:
1) Turn the AC power on using the green button in the front.
2) Turn the current knob (the first one from the left) to slightly above minimum so that the CV light is on.
3) Use the two knobs on the right to set the voltage to desired level recommended by battery manufacturer.
4) Connect the battery to the back terminals, make sure the polarity is correct: + to + and - to -.
5) Turn the current knob up to maximum.
6) Watch the charging progress, when the current is below 1A or 1/10 of the maximum charging current, it is probably time to stop. Make sure the AC power never goes off line during the charging process.
7) Disconnect the battery from the power supply.
8) Turn off the power supply.
