Electrocoagulation Power Supply

What is electrocoagulation in waste water treatment?

Electrocoagulation (EC) is an electrochemical process for wastewater and industrial water treatment, where the passing of electrical current through wastewater causes contaminat colloidal materials to coalesce and subsequent removal. It is very efficient in removing charged contaminants such as ions that are not easily removed by standard filteration based treatment process. The setup typically involves multiple large and closely spaced electrodes that are either electronically connected via series or parallel connection. A DC power supply are a critical part of the set up.

Is reverse polarity needed for eletrocoagulation power supplies?

Although not a must have, reverse polarity capability of the power supply can come in very handy in automatically cleaning the electrodes and switching the electrodes to avoid excess etching of a particular electrode.

What does Volteq offer in electrocoagulation rectifiers?

Volteq has multiple models of DC power supplies that are ideally suited for wastewater electrocoagulation applications. Our DC power supplies are highly stable and efficient, and have been successfully deployed in large scale wastewater treatment plants throughout United States.
